Because I’m Happy

C S Lewis said “If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world.”
The literary genius of C S Lewis is absolutely astounding, his works carry such weight their value is immeasurable.

Here, Lewis seeks to remind us that from a Biblical view point heaven is our great reward!

While digesting the significance of this statement I have found myself pondering these words in a different context; one of the here and the now. Indulge me if you will to consider the quote with the following adjustments:
If I find in myself desires which nothing on this path can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for another path.
Psalms 119:35 says ‘make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found.’
Life is choice, the decisions that we make, right or wrong shape our future. In the search for real and sustainable happiness I am moved to assert, it can only be found in God.
Heaven for certain has eternal joys that mere words or imagination could accurately tell and as Lewis asserts could only truly satisfy.
Though, on the ‘B’ side I’m moved to consider that our journey in this life has great satisfaction if we can find the path that God has for each of us … my hope is that we tap into that limitless grace that helps us find it … and stay on it.
