I’m Broken Too!

Recently we caught up with a dear friend, dear is an antiquated expression I know but it accurately describes the value of this relationship for both Norma and myself.

In a moment of intimate discussion she (for the sake of a human context) shared about feeling the challenge of not measuring up, feeling disqualified for advancement and leadership – the image that stares back at us in the mirror and uncovers the hypocrite.

You know what I’m talking about right?

My memory recalled the message Jesus came to share, more than just an historical footnote, these are real words that can bring real change. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for He has anointed me to preach Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the downtrodden will be freed from their oppressors.”

The reality of the message is this; I’m broken too!

Good News though, He came for this very reason, because humanity is broken and in need of serious help, you and me both!

The prophet Isaiah once proclaimed “Strengthen those who have tired hands, and encourage those who have weak knees, say to those who are afraid, be strong…”

So, hang in there, hold tight and keep chasing light!
