G’day! Welcome to Chasing Light!
There’s a story I heard years ago, a humble minister of the Gospel who deeply loved God and God’s people who tirelessly gave all that he had to serve. His life was dedicated to the ragamuffin’s of his generation. He spent his time among the dirty street people society likes to hide from. At his death, a tall nomad stood at the foot of his coffin for hours standing guard tenderly resting his hand on the wooden box. Another guest inquired as to how well he knew the minister? Through tear filled eyes he whispered: “He is the only Jesus I ever knew.”
Lester Sumrall is quoted in saying ‘what a different world we would have if whatever we said, whatever we did, we spoke these words, “In Jesus’ Name.”
Colossians 4:5-6 puts it like this; ‘…and make it your duty to make him (Jesus) known. Let every word you speak be drenched with grace and tempered with truth and clarity.’
Colossians 3:17 says “Let every activity of your lives and every word that comes from your lips be drenched with the beauty of our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One.”
Notice the Apostle Paul shines a light on what he calls our duty. He draws emphasis on making Jesus known through words that are drenched in grace, truth and clarity.
It’s been said that the great use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.
I think that whatever we say and do in Jesus’ Name is going to say more about who we are than any other accomplishment, how about you?
Keep Chasing Light – God Bless!
